About Us
To deliver high-quality supported accommodation for care leavers aged 16-25 in Bradford. We prepare young people for independent living through structured pathways, trauma-informed support, and close partnership with leaving care services.
Our Mission:
Our Story:
Fondcare was founded by Maria Tabbasam, who brings over 15 years of frontline social care experience within Bradford Children and Families Trust. That direct experience of working with care leavers, understanding their challenges, and seeing what support actually works shaped every aspect of how Fondcare operates. We combine professional expertise with genuine local knowledge to deliver support that makes a difference.
Our Values:
Accountability - We maintain transparent reporting and clear outcome tracking for every young person in our care.
Trauma-Informed Practice - Our approach recognises the impact of adverse experiences and responds with understanding, not judgement.
Partnership - We work collaboratively with leaving care teams, sharing information and coordinating support to achieve the best outcomes.
Independence Focus - Every intervention is designed to build practical skills and genuine self-sufficiency.
Our Approach
We believe every young person deserves support that recognises their potential. Our trauma-informed approach combines evidence-based practices with genuine respect for each individual’s journey toward independence.
Our care team embodies four core principles:
Respect — We treat every young person as a capable adult, valuing their voice and choices.
Understanding — We recognise the impact of past experiences and respond with patience and empathy.
Empowerment — We build confidence through practical skills and supported decision-making.
Consistency — We provide reliable, predictable support that builds trust and security.
Independence Pathway Programme
Our structured skills development programme prepares young people for independent living through practical learning modules covering budgeting, cooking, tenancy management, and employment readiness. Each resident receives a personalised pathway with clear milestones, building confidence and competence at their own pace.
