Maria Tabbasam – Founder of Fondcare

Maria Tabbasam is an award-winning professional with over 15 years of experience supporting children, young people and families. She graduated in 2016 with a BA (Hons) degree from the School of Social Sciences and has since dedicated her career to helping vulnerable young people navigate some of life’s most pivotal transitions.

Therapeutic Crisis Intervention trained and Trauma-Informed in her practice, Maria uses a therapeutic approach to support young people in building trust and developing resilience. A recipient of the Inspire Award, she combines professional expertise with deep compassion.

Over the years, Maria has witnessed too many care leavers struggle as they enter adulthood without the right support in place. Fondcare is her response — a service built not only to provide safe, high-quality accommodation, but to equip young people with the skills, guidance, and confidence they need to thrive independently.

Maria leads with empathy, resilience, and an unwavering belief in each young person’s potential — shaping Fondcare into a springboard for strong, secure futures.
